PT Tanaya Artha Gautama Conducted an On-Site Inspection, Collaborating in Detail on the Environmental Planning of PT Indo Bara Pratama's Mining Area

  • by

In the past week, particularly on June 8, 2024, PT Tanaya Artha Gautama conducted an on-site inspection at a mining company that is about to implement environmental management, focusing especially on the management of liquid waste from primary activities such as mining and all supporting activities, including dormitories, workshops, toilets, prayer rooms, canteens, and others.

The planning carried out will be documented in the Technical Approval for the Liquid Waste Treatment Plant (IPLC), which will be outlined in the IPLC Document by PT Tanaya Artha Gautama and discussed directly with the company, PT Indo Bara Pratama. The on-site inspection aims to align actual field conditions with the principles of liquid waste management planning, integrated with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and relevant regulations that accommodate the planned activities.

The schedule for activities at PT Indo Bara Pratama begins with discussions between the company's owner, the contractor, and PT Tanaya Artha Gautama to ensure that the planning process aligns with the actual conditions in the field.

PT Indo Bara Pratama plans to manage wastewater from its mining activities using a settling pond that implements an overflow concept in each compartment and the addition of coagulants to neutralize the pH level and reduce the turbidity of the wastewater. In this plan, the effluent from the settling pond treatment must meet the quality standards required by the regulations set by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

In relation to the main and supporting activities, such as workshops, offices, dormitories, prayer rooms, and others that generate domestic wastewater, planning takes into account the number of people who will produce wastewater based on their daily clean water usage. PT Indo Bara Pratama already has a Water Treatment Plant (WTP) that processes collected rainwater into clean water for use in all supporting activities of PT Indo Bara Pratama. This WTP uses coagulant addition and filtration to turn the water into raw water that can be used for bathing, washing, and sanitation purposes.

Based on the treatment results at the WTP, PT Indo Bara Pratama plans to manage domestic wastewater through a Domestic Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) with a capacity tailored to the wastewater produced by each individual. In this comprehensive planning, all aspects are detailed in accordance with the current regulations set by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

The parties involved, such as PT Indo Bara Pratama's contractor, PT Petrosea, also align with the results of the discussions, both in terms of data and actual field conditions. This ensures that the agenda produces a coherent output, which is documented in the Technical Approval for the Liquid Waste Treatment Plant (WTP) planning document.
